Number One SonIn the story "Number One Son" by Monfoon Leong it expresses the importance of family. Many children don't realize that their parents always have their best interest at heart. For instance, when I was younger my mom wouldn't let me do certain things my friends where doing and it made me upset. As I got older I realized she was just making sure i made the right decisions. In the story the main character Ming had a father who moved to America with out knowing any English and still was able to provide for his wife ad six children. Ming had resented his father because his father was never around and still didn't make enough money. But after Ming's father passed away he realized that his father was just trying to do the best he could to provide for his family My mother had me when she was thirteen even though most people told her to abort. I appreciate her for giving me my life and allowing me to be in her life. I feel that if I am optimistic about life and never give up, no matter how hard things get they will get better. With out my mom I wouldn't see life the way I do today.
